Bill is working for two days, but still comes to the hospital and stays with me after his shift. By the time he gets here we eat dinner, watch a little TV, and then go to sleep. I know he doesn't sleep well, but he insists on staying. I am really lucky that he is able (and wants) to spend so much time here.
I have been so tired that all I have wanted to do is sleep the past couple of days. These babies take a lot out of me, even though I am not doing anything! It probably doesn't help that the nurse has to give me medication every four hours, including during the night. So, I can only get four hours of sleep at a time. I have finally given in to taking Ambien nearly every night to get to sleep at night. If I don't, I have the craziest dreams and toss and turn all night. The drugs at least get me into a deep sleep for a while. I still have a hard time going back to sleep after the nurse comes in at 5am, but at least I get a few hours before that.
So, it has been pretty quiet here that past couple of days. (Which is good!) Sounds like some of the other ladies up here have been having some problems. Sometimes I feel like the nurses forget about me, but I know if I need anything they will be here. I don't want to be the one causing all the excitement. Wednesday the doctors even forgot to see me during their rounds in the morning, then remembered in the afternoon to check in with me. I know that sounds bad, but they didn't have anything new and I didn't have any questions for them. Stable and quiet is great, and hopefully I can stay this way for a while.
On Wednesday, my friend Kristin visited after work and I also received a bouquet of flowers from my Aunt Rosemary and cousins Polly & Rachael.
