Day 25 - Saturday, August 16, 2008

Today I spent the day learning about obscure Olympic sports; like trampoline, water polo, and skulls/rowing. However, I still have a few questions. Why is trampoline an Olympic sport? Why do water polo athletes wear those funny looking bonnets? And, why is rowing called skulls? I guess I have some research to do.

Anyways, the babies sound good today and I am feeling pretty good. I am still nervous about my shortening cervix, so I am trying not to get up too much this weekend.

After working all day Friday and spending the night here at the hospital, Bill drove up to Freeland for my baby shower. He was taking my place, since I can't even barely leave this room. It was given by my friend, Amy, and my Mom at Apple Mountain. Luckily, there were a few other men there. So, he wasn't alone with a bunch of women. Amy made sure Bill understood how the event was going to run and kept him on track, since he had not been to a baby shower before. Bill called me toward the end of the shower and passed the phone around to several people. Sounded like everyone had fun. We are so thankful for all the support we get from friends and family. Here are a couple of pictures of the group at the shower.

From what I hear, Bill was quite the entertainment. My Mom's friends think I should rent him out for showers. Maybe we could make some extra money for diapers that way?!?
Chris, Amy's husband, was the photographer and videographer for the event. Thanks Chris! Bill brought back the footage for me to see tonight.

Bill also brought back leftovers from the lunch for me to have for dinner. Somehow he forgot to include this delicious looking chocolate cake, but he did remember to take a picture of it?!?

All our wonderful gifts in our living room! If you look closely, Benjamin the cat is checking everything out. Also, right in front of the fireplace is our triple decker stroller that we bought right before I was admitted to the hospital (with the car seats on it).

Thank you to my Mom and Amy for throwing this beautiful shower! Also, thank you to my Aunt Sue for helping Bill with the gift opening!
